Athletic Therapy
What is Athletic Therapy?:
A Certified Athletic Therapist is a health care professional who specializes in the prevention, immediate care, assessment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. A musculoskeletal injury affects muscles, bones, and joints. A certified AT can be recognized by the credentials CAT(C). Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and national athletes. Athletic Therapists (ATs) are experts in helping athletes return to competition and assisting players in maximizing their performance potential as fast as possible after an injury occurs. Our Athletic Therapists use a thorough knowledge of the human musculoskeletal system, exercise physiology, biomechanics and basic emergency care to excel in the assessment and treatment of an injured individual. AT’s knowledge of the skills and physical demands of sport and active rehabilitation expertise make them experts in treating the musculoskeletal injuries of all Canadians, whether they are on the field or in our clinic. |
